Bulk Add Tracks to Splits

The Bulk Add Tracks feature allows you to assign releases to a split by entering UPCs instead of searching for and assigning tracks individually. This is especially useful when applying a split across a large catalog of releases.

Accessing Bulk Add Tracks

Navigate to the SplitShare configuration page by either creating a new Split or editing a previously created Split, and scroll to the Tracks section.

• If no tracks have been added to the split, click Add Tracks and select Bulk Add.
• If tracks have already been added, click Add Tracks in the upper-right corner of the Tracks section and select Bulk Add.

Entering UPCs

The Bulk Add Tracks window allows you to paste a list of UPCs.

Requirements:

• Enter one UPC per line
• Up to 1,000 UPCs can be submitted at one time

After entering your UPCs, click Validate UPCs.

Validation Results

Before any tracks are assigned, the system validates every submitted UPC and displays the results in three categories: Ready to assign, Already assigned, and Cannot be assigned. 

Ready to assign: This section contains UPCs that:

• Belong to the current account
• Has all tracks unassigned

These releases are eligible for assignment and will be added to the selected split when confirmed.

Already assigned: This section contains UPCs that are currently assigned to another split.

The system will display the existing split associated with each UPC. These releases can be reassigned to the current split, but only if you explicitly confirm the reassignment.

Cannot be assigned: This section contains UPCs that cannot be processed.

Examples include:

• Invalid UPC values
• UPCs that do not belong to the current account
• UPCs that cannot be found

These UPCs are excluded from assignment, and no changes will be made to them.

Confirming Assignment

After reviewing the validation results, click Confirm Assignment to continue.

The system will:

• Assign all eligible releases in the Ready to Assign section
• Reassign releases in the Already Assigned section
• Exclude any UPCs listed in Cannot Be Assigned

Only UPCs that successfully pass validation will be processed.

After confirmation, all tracks associated with the assigned releases will appear in the Tracks section of the split.
