With the track assignments page, you can easily manage how royalties are split among collaborators for specific tracks in your catalog. You can both assign tracks to existing Splits and assign tracks to a new split on this page.
To navigate to the Track Assignments page, click SplitShare ► Track Assignments.
This page will display all the tracks associated with your account, where you can search for tracks based on metadata or filter based on track status:
- Assigned Tracks: Tracks already assigned to a split. Royalties for these tracks will be distributed based on the shares defined in the corresponding split.
- Unassigned Tracks: Tracks not yet assigned to a split. By default, 100% of royalties for these tracks will remain in your account.
Assign Tracks to an Existing Split
To assign tracks to a split:
- Use the search bar or filters to locate the tracks you want to assign.
- Select tracks by clicking the checkbox or row—up to 100 tracks at a time.
- Click Assign to Split.
- If an artist on the selected tracks is already part of a split, you'll see Suggested Splits at the top of the page.
- You can also search for other existing splits in your account under the Existing Splits tab
- Choose a split by selecting the radio button next to it.
- Click Assign Split to allocate future royalties for the selected tracks according to the defined percentages in that Split.
Assign Tracks to a New Split
If no existing Splits match the percentages you need to pay your collaborators, you can create a new Split:
- Select tracks and click Assign to Split to open the drawer
- Click the New Split tab
- By default, the track artists (primary, featuring, remixer) from the selected tracks will display as payees
- You can remove any collaborators who shouldn’t be part of the split.
- Enter the percentages each payee should receive. Entered percentages will be deducted from the percentage remaining in the account
- Optionally, you can give the split a name. If left blank, a default name will be assigned.
- Click Assign to Split to finalize the new Split and to assign the tracks to the new Split
- The Split will now be available for future use, and the selected tracks will have royalties distributed accordingly.
