StreamSafe Overview

StreamSafe is part of the Symphonic Analytics toolkit. It shows you any artificial streaming activity that Digital Service Providers (DSPs) have flagged on your catalog, so you can monitor it and take action where needed.

An artificial stream is a stream that does not reflect genuine user listening intent, including any attempt to manipulate streaming services using automated processes like bots or scripts. Symphonic and our DSP partners invest in detecting, preventing, and removing the impact of artificial streams on the royalty pool, and both hold strict policies against artificial streaming — violations can carry a range of penalties. StreamSafe surfaces what our DSP partners have reported to us about your account, and it refreshes monthly as new reports come in.

Choosing a month and sorting the results

StreamSafe reports are delivered monthly, so the first step is to pick the reporting period you want to review:

• Month — choose the reporting month from the dropdown. The page updates to show what DSPs flagged during that month.
• Sort by — order the flagged tracks by Artificial Stream Count (descending or ascending), Percentage (descending or ascending), or Track Name (A–Z or Z–A).
• Search — type a track name and click Search to jump to a specific track.

Viewing flagged tracks by store

Below the controls is a row of tiles, one per DSP — Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora, and Amazon Music. Each tile shows how many of your tracks that store flagged for the selected month. A store showing 0 tracks means nothing was flagged there that month.

Click a store's tile to see its flagged tracks. The selected tile is highlighted, and the list below updates to show that store's results.

For each flagged track, the list shows:

• The track title and its ISRC, alongside the release and its UPC.
• Artificial Streams — the number of streams the store flagged as artificial.
• Percentage of Total Streams — how much of the track's total streams that flagged count represents. A very small share appears as <1%.

Use the paging controls beneath the list to move through the results when a store has flagged more tracks than fit on one page.

Good to know

The numbers in StreamSafe are what Symphonic received directly from each DSP, and they update once a month as new reports arrive. If a store hasn't reported yet for a given month, its flagged tracks may not appear until the next refresh.
