Passkeys offer a modern, more secure alternative to traditional passwords for account login. Unlike passwords, which are often stolen and misused, passkeys eliminate this risk. They use your phone, laptop, or another supported device to verify your identity, allowing you to access your account safely. While the underlying security processes are complex, the key advantage is that passkeys cannot be compromised the same way passwords can.
An additional advantage is the ease of use: you won't be required to retrieve a code with every login.
How to create a passkey
When you successfully input your verification code, you should arrive at the profile verified (success) page, which will prompt you to create a passkey.
When you click Create, it will prompt for a name, and then your system’s default password manager will take over to create one. The most common password managers are Google Password Manager and Apple Passwords.
If you are already logged into your account, you can head to your Account Badge ► My Profile page and move to the Manage Passkeys to create and manage your passkeys.
How to log in with passkeys
Once you’ve created a passkey, if your browser has autofill enabled, then clicking on the email field will prompt you to use any of the stored passkeys for this page. No need to enter your password. If you don’t have autofill or don’t have a password manager, you can click on Log In with Passkey button. You will be prompted to sign in with your stored method.
