Reuse Existing Track Tool

When creating a new release, you can use the Reuse Existing Track tool to quickly bring in metadata from a previously released track. This is especially useful for waterfall release strategies, as it helps ensure consistency and links play counts across versions.

You’ll find the Reuse Existing Track button at the bottom of the Tracks section, just before Release Availability.

After clicking, a pop-up will appear where you can enter the track name or ISRC. Select Import, and the track will be added to the bottom of your track list.

If you need to adjust the order of your tracks, you can do so at the top of the Tracks section.

FAQs

My track is not showing up for import.

Only tracks that have been previously approved will be available for import. If the track is submitted or unsubmitted, it will not be eligible for reuse. Only previously approved tracks are eligible for import. If a track is still in submitted or Unfinished status, it won’t appear as an option.

The system is giving me an error.

If the track that you are importing is already associated with a track on the release or if you  previously uploaded an audio file to the release and have assigned it to a track, you may receive an error:

"Can't import track. The audio file associated to the track you're attempting to import already exists on this release. To import this track, unassign the audio file from the conflicting track or delete the conflicting track."
