What is YouTube Content ID?

Content ID is a digital fingerprinting system developed by YouTube that helps content creators identify, manage, and monetize their copyrighted material across the platform. When a video is uploaded to YouTube, it is automatically scanned and compared against a database of audio and video files provided by rights holders. If a match is found, the owner can choose how to handle that content—whether that’s monetizing it, tracking its performance, or requesting its removal. This system allows rights holders to maintain control over how their music is used on YouTube, while also creating opportunities to generate revenue from user-generated content.

Below is a quick video we prepared that explains our service and how Content ID works. You can also visit YouTube’s Help Center to learn more.
