Spatial Audio/Dolby Atmos for Partner Plans

Symphonic clients on the Partner plan can add Spatial Audio tracks to their release. Dolby Atmos audio can be uploaded to the Edit Track page under the Stereo Audio details.

Note: If you are on a Starter Plan, please click here for instructions on how you can upload Spatial audio.

  • The Spatial Audio file's duration needs to match the Stereo Audio file's duration to be accepted.
  • Symphonic charges $24.99 per Spatial Audio track. The fee will be deducted from future royalties if you're on the Symphonic Partner plan.
  • When a track has a linked Spatial Audio file, a Spatial tag will appear on the Release page next to the track number.

Dolby Atmos audio file requirements

Note: Dolby Atmos audio files generated from stereo mixes are not allowed.

  • Provide the Dolby Atmos file as a Broadcast Wave Format Audio Definition Model (BWF ADM) file.

  • All tracks within a project must be at the same frame rate.

  • Ensure the LFE Channel does not contain audio outside of 3-120Hz.
  • All audio must be 24-bit linear pulse code modulation (LPCM) audio at 48kHz.

  • You must conform and sync the Atmos files with the stereo reference files for the same project.

  • The integrated loudness value should not exceed -18 LKFS measured as per ITU-R BS. 1770-4.

  • True-peak level should not exceed -1 dB TP measured as per ITU-R BS. 1770-4.

  • For albums where gapless playback is intended between tracks:

    • Each album track must be delivered as an individual BWF ADM file.

    • Each track boundary must be no more than half a frame (1,000 samples @ 48 kHz) earlier or later than the same track boundary in the corresponding stereo deliverable.

    • There must be no additional silence at the end of each track when compared to the same track from the corresponding stereo deliverable.

Issues with file requirements

If your Spatial Audio file does not meet the requirements, the entire release will need to be taken down until you can submit a replacement file that meets the above requirements. This means your Stereo Audio version will also be taken down until the Spatial Audio replacement has been supplied.

Spatial ISRC

Just like a normal stereo recording, the Spatial Audio recording needs its own ISRC. If you don't have one, Symphonic will automatically assign one.

DSP Support

These DSPs will allow users to listen to your Spatial Audio tracks.

  • Amazon
  • Apple Music
  • Deezer
  • Tidal

Spatial Audio Pricing Details

$24.99 is charged to your account per unique Spatial Audio file. We determine this by the Spatial Audio's ISRC.

Like Stereo Audio, if you want to reuse Spatial Audio on another release, enter the same Spatial ISRC when building your release. This will prevent multiple charges for using the same Spatial Audio across your catalog.
