Distributing an Artist with Symbol(s) and/or Characters

For example: "I have an artist who has a symbol in his name: "Ø". Do online service providers usually allow symbols or characters in names?"

Some partners do and others may not. This could potentially result in the name not coming across correctly on some providers. Symphonic does not have an issue with distributing for these artist but we can't control how every partner potentially process releases and cannot guarantee the artist name will be uniform across stores and services.
