TikTok for Artists (also referred to as TT4A) is TikTok's platform for musicians and their teams. It gives you access to real-time analytics, promotional tools, and campaign features to help grow your presence on TikTok.
To use TikTok for Artists, you first need a certified TikTok Artist Account. This article walks you through what that means, how to get one, and what to do if your content isn't showing up on your profile.
What Is a Certified Artist Account?
A TikTok Artist Account (also called Artist Certification) connects your TikTok profile to your music catalog. It's not a popularity badge or the same thing as the blue checkmark — it's specifically about linking your profile to the music you've distributed to TikTok.
Once certified, you'll unlock these features:
- Music Tab — A tab on your profile that shows all of your official TikTok sounds in one place. You need to be certified and have at least three tracks delivered to TikTok through your distributor for this tab to appear.
- "By Artist" Feature — Pin your own videos or a fan's video to the top of any of your track's sound pages.
- Artist Tag — An "Artist" label appears under your profile name automatically once your certification is active.
- New Release Tag — A "New" tag appears on videos and sound pages featuring your latest release.
- Pre-Release Campaigns — Promote upcoming releases and let fans pre-save to Spotify or Apple Music directly from TikTok.
How to Claim Your TikTok Artist Page
Before reaching out to Symphonic, we recommend trying to claim your artist page yourself. Most artists can complete this process on their own in a few minutes.
Before you start, make sure:
- Your music has already been delivered and is live on TikTok through Symphonic. If your music isn't in TikTok's library yet, you won't be able to find your profile during the application.
- You're using the TikTok mobile app. The Artist Hub application does not work on desktop.
Steps to claim your artist page:
- Open the TikTok app and go to your Profile.
- Tap the three-line menu icon (☰) in the upper-right corner.
- Select TikTok Studio.
- Scroll to "More tools" and tap "Artist Hub" (it may also appear as "TikTok for Artists").
- Tap "Apply now."
- Enter your full artist name exactly as it appears on streaming platforms and search for your profile in TikTok's music library.
- When you find the correct profile, tap "Claim."
- Provide proof that you are the artist. TikTok will ask for screenshots showing you own or manage the account. Accepted forms of proof include:
- Screenshots from your SymphonicMS dashboard showing your artist name and catalog
- Screenshots from Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists showing your artist name, album titles, and/or track titles
- Make sure your screenshots clearly show the artist name and include visible profile editing buttons or dashboard elements that prove you own the account.
- Tap "Submit."
TikTok will review your application and respond within approximately 30 days. Once approved, the Music Tab and Artist Tag will appear on your profile.
There is no minimum follower count required to apply.
You can also start the application directly through this link (mobile only): TikTok Music Artist Certification
Please note: If you don't see "Artist Hub" in TikTok Studio, your region may not support this feature yet, or your app may need to be updated. Artist Certification is currently available in select territories including the US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and others. TikTok continues to expand access over time.
What If My Application Is Denied?
If your application is denied, check the following before reapplying:
- Does your artist name on TikTok match exactly with the name on your distributed releases? Check for extra spaces, special characters, or abbreviations.
- Is your music actually live on TikTok? Confirm in your SymphonicMS account that TikTok delivery is enabled and that the release has been delivered.
- Do your screenshots clearly prove you are the artist? TikTok needs to see the artist name plus account ownership indicators (like editing buttons on your dashboard).
If you've checked all of the above and are still unable to claim your page, please reach out to our support team and we'll assist you.
Getting Started with TikTok for Artists
Once your Artist Account is certified, you can sign up for the TikTok for Artists platform:
- Go to artists.tiktok.com and click "Get Started."
- Select "I'm an artist" and then click "Sign up with TikTok."
- Log into your TikTok account.
- Accept the request to link your account with a TikTok Business Account, then click "Continue."
Please note: This linking step is only for providing analytics access. It will not change your TikTok account to a Business account, and it will not affect your ability to use the general music library.
You'll then be redirected to TikTok for Artists where you can access your data.
What You Can Do in TikTok for Artists
- Music Analytics — See how your songs are performing across TikTok, including video creations, shares, and views. You can also view TikTok metrics within your SymphonicMS account.
- Post Analytics — Track performance on individual TikTok posts, including completion rate, comments, and engagement.
- Audience Insights — Learn about your followers — where they're located, their age range, and language.
- Pre-Release Campaigns — Promote upcoming releases and allow fans to pre-save to Spotify or Apple Music.
- Help Center — Submit help requests directly to TikTok by selecting "Contact Us" within TikTok for Artists.
Please note: TikTok for Artists does not currently offer a central label account with a full roster view. Access is provided on an artist-by-artist basis. Labels can be invited to an artist's team by the artist themselves once they've joined.
Content Not Showing on Your Artist Profile
If your music has been distributed to TikTok but isn't appearing on your profile's Music Tab, here are the most common reasons and how to fix them.
TikTok now requires Music Tab and content-related issues to be managed through the TikTok for Artists platform. Most of these can be resolved without a support ticket to Symphonic.
Common reasons your content may not appear:
- You haven't claimed your artist page yet. The Music Tab only appears on certified Artist Accounts. See the steps above to apply.
- You have fewer than three tracks on TikTok. The Music Tab requires at least three delivered tracks to appear.
- Your artist name doesn't match. The name on your TikTok profile must match the name on your distributed releases exactly. Even small differences like extra spaces, special characters, or abbreviations can prevent linking.
- You're on a Business account. Business accounts can only access TikTok's Commercial Sounds library, which can cause issues with general music visibility. For full functionality, switch to a Personal account: Profile → Menu (☰) → Settings and privacy → Account → Switch to Personal Account.
- Your release is still processing. New releases can take a few days to fully appear on TikTok after delivery. Wait several business days before troubleshooting.
- Your artist or track name is too generic. Common words may not surface in TikTok's default search. Try searching using the "Most Recent" filter.
- Your tracks aren't mapped to your profile. Sometimes tracks are live on TikTok but not automatically linked to the correct artist profile. This requires a manual linking request.
How to Link Content to Your Artist Profile
If your tracks are on TikTok but not showing on your Music Tab, submit a linking request using TikTok's Artist Feedback form:
Allow a few business days for TikTok to process the request.
Tips:
- When posting your own music on TikTok, always select the track from TikTok's Sound Library in the app rather than adding audio to your video before uploading. If you add the music externally, TikTok's system may not recognize the track or link it to your profile.
- Once your account is certified and your tracks are properly mapped, all previously delivered tracks should appear on your Music Tab. Future releases will be mapped automatically.
If you've tried all of the above and your content still isn't appearing after several business days, reach out to Symphonic's support team. Include your TikTok profile link and the specific release(s) in question so we can escalate with TikTok on your behalf.
