How to Take Your Content Down from Distributors

Once you transfer your releases over to Symphonic, we recommend waiting to take down the releases with your previous distributor until: 

  1. You see both Symphonic's release and the release with your previous distributor live on DSPs.
  2. Play counts have been linked to the new release.

Once you see both releases live, you can issue a takedown with your previous distributor. Below are instructions on how to take down your releases from your previous distributor.  

 

Amuse

  • Log in to your Amuse account
  • Go to 'My Music'
  • Select the release
  • Click the button 'Take down release'

 

AWAL

Email your label manager or use the AWAL Portal support request

Include the following:

  • Artist name
  • Release title
  • UPC
  • Date you want it taken down

 

CDBaby

  • Log in to your account
  • Select 'Album & Singles'
  • Click 'View/Edit' next to the title you want to cancel
  • Select the 'Distribution' section of the Title Overview
  • Click 'Cancellation Options'
  • Select 'Cancel from Specific Partners'
    or
  • 'Cancel ALL Digital Distribution and Sync'
  • Click 'submit'

 

DistroKid

  • Log in to your DistroKid account
  • Navigate to the release you wish to remove
  • Click the 'Edit Release' option
  • Scroll down and click the 'Remove this single/album from stores' button
  • Confirm the removal

 

DITTO

  • Log in to your Ditto account.
  • Scroll down to the 'My Releases' section of your 'My Music' page.
  • Click the dropdown menu next to the release you want to remove and click 'Takedown'.

 

TooLost

  • Go to 'Manage Releases'
  • Press the ⦸ icon
  • Confirm the takedown request

 

Stem

Email support@stem.is with the following

Include the following:

  • Artist name
  • Release title
  • UPC
  • Reason for takedown

 

Tunecore

  • Log in to your Tunecore account
  • Go to your 'Music' tab and select the release
  • Click 'Store Manager'
  • Select 'Take Down From All Stores'
  • Follow the prompts to confirm
