The following clause is taken from our Distribution agreement and this Help Center topic is created with the intention of translating our agreement in a way that can further be understood.

Marketing, such as featured placements on Partner platforms, mailing list promotions, blog postings, and similar promotions (“Marketing Tools”) are not guaranteed for Client or for any release, brand name, and/or artist. Notwithstanding the above, Symphonic places great emphasis on efforts to gain exposure for Client and will use commercially reasonable efforts to promote Client via Marketing Tools connected with Client Content. Client shall supply advertising and promotional material it wishes Symphonic to use in connection with Client Content, and Symphonic reserves the right to use additional, basic marketing tools as necessary to promote and expose Client Content. Client may purchase additional individual marketing packages and offerings directly from Symphonic.

This clause states that no marketing opportunity is guaranteed. With that said though, it doesn't mean we won't try or work hard to attain it but it is important to be transparent and clear. No distribution company can guarantee featured placements and should you hear of someone guaranteeing that, please, let us know as it is not proper information.

The clause also states that in order for us to attain a featured request, we'll need information from you such as promotional material and/or info on what you are doing to promote the product to be able to attain a featured request.  Lastly, we have marketing services that are available for purchase separately from this Distribution agreement.
